Intro to Lace Knitting

Have you always admired those diaphanous shawls & scarves but thought they were out of your knitting league? They aren’t! Learn to make a simple lace triangular scarf that can be easily continued into a shawl.  We will cover basic lace principles while working on a beautiful pattern.  Students should already be able to knit & purl before taking this class. Ages 12-adult.

Supplies:

– 1 (or 2 for a larger shawl) hank of Splendor or another smooth fingering weight yarn (no mohair, angora or alpaca), 400yds

– circular needles 24″ or longer in size 8 or 9 US

– 2 ring stitch markers
